News Update

Provanhall Housing Association, along with the many tenant Board members has served our community for over 35 years. Our focus has always been to provide safe, affordable, decent homes and treating everyone with fairness, dignity, and respect.

We are aware of discussion about housing, particularly around allocations, including activity in neighbouring areas. It’s natural for people to have questions, and we want to offer clear information, so everyone understands how things work.

Housing Associations must follow Scottish law and local housing requirements. That’s the basis for every decision we make.

Scotland is facing a wider housing emergency, and no individual or family living here is responsible for that situation.

To be open about our own position:

  • As at 24 July 2026 – we have 875 approved applications for housing sitting in our waiting list.  Sadly, we will not be able to assist all of these households without building far more homes.  This situation is widely spread throughout Scotland, where the Scottish government announced a Housing Emergency in May 2024.
  • We re‑let 23 homes last year, 21 of those were one or two-bedroom homes with only 2 being larger than a two‑bedroom property or 8.33%.
  • Of the 23 homes we relet – three were allocated to internal transfers (for example a household needing to move to a ground floor home due to medical needs).  Four allocated to our waiting list applicants, 13 to households assessed as homeless by the local authority and three as management transfers due to emergency household circumstances.
  • We do not provide temporary accommodation.
  • We do not offer shared or multiple occupancy living homes. Our role as a community based Housing Association is providing long‑term, safe, affordable, decent homes — to build and maintain a safe and sustainable community.

We work closely with the city of Glasgow council and within Scottish Government requirements. This is part of our legal responsibility as a Social Landlord, and it also ensures we can access future funding that benefits our residents and strengthens our community.

If anyone would like to understand our allocations process or raise a concern, we’re always happy to talk.  You can email our team at info@provanhallha.org.uk and you can read our Allocations Policy by clicking on this link: Allocations Policy
We also have a handy Housing Options Information Leaflet which can be accessed here: Housing Options Leaflet

Our Allocations Policy was reviewed by our tenants through our consultation process in March 2025.

For support and advice about applying for a home, please see our Advice here: /how-to-apply/

Our commitment to our residents remains: supporting local people, keeping our community balanced and safe, and meeting housing need fairly. That’s the work we will continue to do.
