How to check a Police Officers Identity?

With there being so many scams out there, Police Scotland have provided information on the ways their officers contact people, how they will identify themselves, but more importantly, how you can check they are who they say they are. Genuine Police Officers will not mind you wanting to verify their identification, particularly if they are looking to enter your home. Be scam aware, and it's better to be safe than sorry.
